The Problem

Documentation shouldn't be a chore.

Stop fighting drawing canvases. Focus on designing resilient networks instead.

The Manual Gridlock

  • Hours of Node Dragging Manually placing nodes, centering labels, aligning interfaces, and untangling overlapping link lines in static drawing canvases.
  • Fragile Layouts Adding a single redundant firewall or backup link forces you to manually nudge 40 other elements to make space.
  • Instant Deprecation Diagrams become obsolete the minute a configuration change or maintenance window is applied in production.
  • Fragmented Documentation Cabling sheets, IP allocation plans, BOMs, and visual topologies live in separate, disconnected spreadsheets.

The Speed of Thought

  • Compound Layout Engine Graph-theoretic layout algorithms handle sites, devices and straight and orthogonal connections without manual box-nudging.
  • Conversational Incremental Reflows Type "Add a secondary ASA firewall in HA cluster" — NetArchitect updates the topology and reflows connections in seconds.
  • Config-Driven Accuracy Ingest actual device configurations and structured data to keep visual architecture identical to production.
  • 100% Native Draw.io XML Export fully editable, grouped, and layered .drawio files. Customize, style, and share freely inside your standard tools.
  • Synchronized Engineering Dossier Export matched topology diagrams, Excel IP allocation plans, and cabling schedules from a single source of truth.
Capabilities

From concept or configuration to
production-grade diagrams.

NetArchitect is purpose-built to accelerate the entire network documentation and design lifecycle.

1. Natural Language & Config Ingestion
Describe your network in plain English or paste configuration snippets from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or YAML/JSON schemas. NetArchitect extracts devices, interfaces, and subnets automatically.
Vendor & Text Ingest
2. Automated Compound Layouts
No more overlapping lines or misaligned boxes. Our backend layout engine groups devices into parent containers (Sites, VPCs, VLANs) and calculates optimal orthogonal paths in seconds.
Graph Algorithms
3. Custom Skills & Design Standards
Enforce company architectural guidelines and vendor best practices. Activate custom skills (e.g., @skill:fortinet-sdwan or @skill:pci-compliance) to apply deterministic rules, layout presets, and security zoning automatically.
Reusable Skills
4. Conversational Iteration via Chat
Architecture evolves. Use interactive prompts to add failover links, insert DMZ zones, or reconfigure WAN branches without redrawing the canvas from scratch.
Live Streaming AI
5. 100% Native & Layered Draw.io Export
Download native .drawio XML files. Open and edit them in Draw.io Web, Draw.io Desktop, Confluence, Notion, or VS Code. Zero vendor lock-in.
Native Draw.io XML
6. Engineering Dossier & Multi-View
Generate synchronized Excel workbooks containing complete Device Inventories, Interface Cabling Matrices, and Subnet IP Plans alongside High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) visual topologies.
Excel BOM & Multi-View
Use Case
WAN Design
MPLS, SD-WAN, and hybrid WAN diagrams with multi-site topology and link annotations.
Use Case
HLD / LLD
Generate both high-level and low-level design documents from the same source model.
Use Case
Data Centre
Spine-leaf, three-tier, and clos fabric topologies with VLAN and VRF segmentation.
Use Case
Audit & AS-IS
Reverse-engineer existing networks from config dumps into accurate documentation instantly.

FAQ

Technical FAQ

Is my network configuration data secure?

Yes. Security and privacy are fundamental. NetArchitect processes configuration parameters to construct the topology graph model; we never store your raw device credentials, passwords, or configuration files.

Can I import my existing Cisco or vendor configuration files?

Yes. NetArchitect parses common vendor formats (Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, Fortinet FortiOS) as well as structured formats (JSON, YAML, CSV) to extract hostnames, interfaces, VLANs, and peerings.

Can I enforce company-specific design standards and vendor best practices?

Yes. With NetArchitect Custom Skills, you can define or import reusable skills (via @skill:slug) to enforce corporate naming conventions, internal standards, or vendor-validated design patterns across all generated diagrams.

Are the exported diagrams locked into NetArchitect?

Absolutely not. NetArchitect exports standard, native .drawio XML files. You own your designs completely. You can open, edit, and store them anywhere you choose.

Which editors and platforms are compatible with the exported files?

The generated files are 100% compatible with diagrams.net (Draw.io), Draw.io Desktop, and the official Draw.io plugins for Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Notion, GitHub, and VS Code.

How does NetArchitect handle complex enterprise topologies with multiple sites?

Our layout engine uses compound graph hierarchical algorithms. It automatically organizes devices into nested parent containers and routes orthogonal connections to eliminate visual clutter.

Can I export inventory and cabling data alongside the diagram?

Yes. In addition to .drawio diagrams, NetArchitect can generate structured Excel workbooks containing device inventories, IP address plans, and physical cabling connection tables.
